Chien-Ho Liu

Soprano Chien-Ho Liu was born in Taipei, Taiwan.

Chien-Ho interpreted the role of Cio-Cio San in Puccini’s Madama Butterfly at the Universty’s opera night in Taiwan. She has also performed principal roles in other operas, including Susanna and Countess Almaviva in Le Nozze di Figaro, and Zerlina in Don Giovanni.

In April-July 2005, Chien-Ho was at the University for Foreigners in Perugia, Italy, under the guidance of soprano Silvia Vajente, where she gave a recital with singers from America, China, Italy, Japan and Korea.

In July, 2005 Chien-Ho performed in a master class recital with Italian and Japanese singers in Poggibonsi, Tuscany. Her teacher was soprano Donatella Debolini.
Chien-Ho was the winner of the Lieder award during the McDonald’s Performing Arts Challenge in Sydney 2008.

Chien-Ho Liu is currently studying at the Elder Conservatorium of Music, University of Adelaide, where she is undertaking a Master in Music Performance and Pedagogy under the guidance of mezzo-soprano Guila Tiver .Vocal pedagogy with Patrick Power.
